Month in Review

This website has now been in existence for two months. Over the month of July, the number of pages has increased from 36 to 57. Most of this has been due to blog posts. Writing a blog post takes considerably less effort than adding/updating projects, because they do not require much extra work, other than writing and a bit of research. Added to this, my spare time has been very limited, so I have not had much time to work on my projects. One of the projects has also been held up due to significant technical difficulties (more on that when I it is ready to present). Hopefully this will change in the coming month, as this blog was never meant to be the focus of this website.

A modest number of visitors have started arriving. So far, the most effective method of drawing in traffic has been to add a signature with a link to this website to posts on Amiga related forums (or fora, if you wish). The down side to this method is that one has to continually post to these forums, or the threads containing the links will drop off the front page, causing the number of visits from that forum to drop to almost zero. Sites such as Technorati, Blogged, Zimbio, Digg, and Reddit have so far delivered very little traffic. However, it is too early to draw any conclusions based on their performance so far.

The statistics for the last month:

Attribute
Value
 Number of Pages
 57
 Size of site  18.6 MB
Number of Visits 682 (AWStats), 336 (Google Analytics), 1697 (Webalizer)
 Number of unique visitors
330 (AWStats), 218 (Google Analytics), 440 (unique sites, Webalizer)
 Total pages
3150 (AWStats), 1296 (Google Analytics), 5982 (Webalizer)
Bandwidth181.2 MB (AWStats), 200 MB (Webalizer)

One important thing to note is that Google Analytics only sees page-views on the public part of the site, whereas AWStats and Webalizer also log the accesses by me to the CMS pages that are used to maintain and update the site.
